A playful brand identity and mobile-first website for Hund & Hund — a bespoke translation studio founded by two sisters in Germany. We built a visual world that speaks the language of language: animated characters representing the founders name through the use of typographic glyphs, and a typewriter-led aesthetic that's sharp, warm, and unique.
The Brief
Hund & Hund came to us with a name full of potential. As a boutique translation company built on precision, personality, and the close-knit dynamic of a sister partnership, they needed a brand identity that could carry both intelligence and warmth, one that would stand apart in the corporate sector.
The challenge was to create something that felt genuinely bespoke: rooted in the nature of the business, expressive of the people behind it, and built to work across every touchpoint from print to screen.
Creative Approach
We began with the name: German for hound. Using typeface glyphs we created two icons representing a dog standing and in motion, anchoring the identity in the world of language itself.
The result is a brand language with a made from meaning: playful on the surface and precise underneath.
Mobile-First Website Design
The brand identity was extended into a mobile-first website designed around the way Hund & Hund's international clients work across devices, time zones, and languages. Clean layouts with considered micro-animations and icons, along with disciplined use of white space give the site the feel of a well-typeset document: legible and elegant, ensuring the site works as well in Berlin as it does in London.
